Once there is a scratch or collision, it is easy to break, or at least displacement will occur, which is troublesome to maintain. Most of the methods adopted now are replacement. For example, the maintenance price for a brand to replace a laser radar is about 9000 yuan. Now many manufacturers are proud to install multiple laser radars and regard them as an important selling point of their products. If you really want to change a few, how much do you say it will cost?



The second is battery. The cost of the battery now accounts for about 40-60% of the cost of the whole vehicle. If the chassis is rubbed or the vehicle is hit, the battery pack will at least be displaced. It is also very troublesome to repair. It is not easy to disassemble it alone. If it is replaced as a whole, it may be very expensive. The cost of replacing the battery is more than that of the whole vehicle.



The third is the integrated die casting. The most typical one is Tesla, which forms the integrated die casting of the rear frame, which was originally formed by stamping and welding 70 parts. If the tail is hit, it will be replaced as a whole.



In addition, the battery and chassis are also being integrated. The battery is directly integrated into the chassis, which is conducive to optimizing the overall layout of the chassis, reducing the thickness of the battery package, and thus bringing more space. However, this integration will make it impossible to replace the battery and chassis separately after an accident.



In addition, with the application of more and more new technologies, the technological content of new energy vehicles will become higher and higher, but they will also become more and more "delicate" and can not cause accidents, otherwise they may be affordable and can not be repaired.



Of course, some people will say: Isn't there an insurance company to provide the information? There is no need to worry too much.



There are indeed insurance companies to pay the bill, but the insurance company is not stupid. It will not lose money and will constantly increase the premium. According to relevant media reports, the premium quotation of new energy vehicles has generally increased by about 10% this year, especially for models with a price of more than 250000 yuan. Tesla said that the average increase of its vehicle premium this year was about 10%, and the average increase of premium for high-performance models was less than 20%. Some consumers have issued their own insurance policies. Since the launch of new energy vehicle insurance on December 27 last year, the premium price of Tesla Model Y has soared to 14902 yuan, of which the motor vehicle loss insurance has soared from 5759 yuan to 12736 yuan, directly doubling.



Is it possible to reduce the maintenance cost and thus the premium in the future?



I think there are only two ways:



First, the maintenance cost is likely to decrease due to the continuous expansion of the scale;
