According to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the first quarter of 2022, the cumulative promotion of new energy (600617) vehicles in China has exceeded 10 million. The rapid increase in the number of new energy vehicles has also driven the rapid development of the charging pile industry.
According to the latest data of China Charging Alliance, from January to March this year, the charging infrastructure increased by 492000 units. Among them, the increase of public charging infrastructure increased by 96.5% year on year; The increment of charging facilities built with vehicles continued to rise, up 538.6% year on year.
More than 3.1 million charging infrastructures nationwide
Fan Feng, deputy chief engineer of a charging pile manufacturer in Shenzhen, said: "The scale of the charging pile market is getting larger and larger. For example, our annual growth rate is 30% to 50%. This year, our order volume has doubled compared with the same period of previous years."
By March 2022, the national charging infrastructure has reached 3.109 million units, up 73.9% year on year.
With the acceleration of charging infrastructure construction, the market development prospect of charging piles is also generally optimistic. According to the research report of Zheshang Securities (601878), the number of new charging piles in the world is expected to reach 13.99 million in 2025, and the corresponding market space will reach 196.3 billion yuan. Among them, the total market space of charging piles in China is 92.5 billion yuan.
At the same time, enterprises have also accelerated their layout in the charging pile market. According to the data from Tianyan, more than 60000 enterprises related to charging piles have been added in the past year.
Relevant support policies have been issued successively
While the charging infrastructure is accelerating, there are still many pain points to be solved.
"At present, on the one hand, there is still a big gap in the car pile ratio, on the other hand, charging piles also have problems such as low utilization rate, uneven distribution, high cost of public charging piles, and poor user experience." Zhang Xiang, president of the New Energy Vehicle Technology Research Institute of Jiangxi New Energy Technology Vocational College, said.
Taking the utilization rate of public charging piles as an example, the data shows that in 2021, the average utilization rate of public charging piles in 22 cities in China will be less than 10%, even if Electric vehicle charging pile The average utilization ratio of public piles in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, where the density is leading, is less than 30%.
In order to solve the above pain points and accelerate the development of the charging pile industry, relevant support policies are being introduced in succession.
The Urban Management and Development Plan of Beijing during the 14th Five Year Plan period released on April 12 proposed that charging facilities in units and residential areas should be encouraged to open to the outside world, and charging facilities in fixed parking spaces should be fully equipped to meet the community public charging conditions. At the same time, we will promote the "easy to find and use" of charging facilities for public electric vehicles. By 2025, no less than 60000 public charging piles will be built.
At the beginning of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Implementation Opinions on Further Improving the Service Guarantee Capacity of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, requiring charging operators to strengthen operation and maintenance, improve equipment availability and fault handling capacity; All operating platforms are required to strengthen information sharing and convenient payment to improve the convenience of charging; We should give financial support to the construction of public charging piles, encourage local governments to establish operating subsidy standards linked to service quality, increase subsidies for new technologies, and promote industry transformation and upgrading.
With the help of new technology, electric vehicle travel will be more convenient
In addition, a number of new technologies are accelerating the empowerment of charging piles.
The reporter learned that on the DC charging pile, also known as the fast charging pile, if a pure electric vehicle with a battery capacity of 100kWh is charged with 120KW, it usually takes 40 minutes to 60 minutes. However, if you need to queue up for charging in case of peak passenger flow during long distance driving, it is easy to wait too long for charging, which is also the main reason why many electric vehicle owners are reluctant to drive electric vehicles for long distance travel. However, the reporter also learned that with the rapid iteration of the charging pile technology, now, as far as the charging pile is concerned, it only takes about 10 minutes to fill a 100kWh electric vehicle, and the technology has matured and is in the process of gradually landing.
In addition to faster charging time, the combination of charging piles and 5G will also bring the charging market into a more intelligent era. Recently, the first batch of domestic 5G smart charging piles jointly built by Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau and China Southern Power Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. were put into operation in Longgang, Shenzhen. The charging piles can not only undertake real-time data acquisition and analysis functions, but also their built-in 5G communication module can enable data transmission rate to reach 50 times the 4G rate.
Wu Tonghao, a communication technician in the power dispatching control center of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid, said: "In the future, if 5G is applied in the charging pile scenario on a large scale, we can collect diversified user information through 5G, so as to conduct accurate analysis of user behavior characteristics, further adjust our layout in the charging pile, and to a certain extent, reduce the waiting time of other users for charging."
