The testing and maintenance of new energy vehicles has become a rising industry in the current market. No matter who wants to start a business or who is working on fuel vehicles, they will think of new energy and find business opportunities in new energy vehicles. Today, no matter whether they are repairing, selling, insuring, or motor vehicle testing, they all need to know the names that must be understood in the testing and maintenance of new energy vehicles.

1 New energy vehicles

The new energy vehicle refers to the vehicle that uses unconventional vehicle fuel as the power source or uses conventional vehicle fuel but uses a new type of on-board power unit, and integrates the advanced technology in vehicle power control and drive to form an advanced technical principle, new technology, and new structure.

2 Electric vehicle (EV)

Electric Vehicle, which is powered by on-board energy and can drive wheels with motors, is generally called electric vehicle.

3 BEV

Battery Electric Vehicle, a vehicle whose driving energy is completely provided by electric energy and driven by motor. The driving electric energy of the motor comes from other on-board rechargeable energy storage devices.

4 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)

Hybrid Electric Vehicle, a vehicle that can obtain power from at least the following two types of on-board stored energy:

——Consumable fuel;

——Rechargeable energy/energy storage device.

5 Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle, a hybrid electric vehicle whose driving force is supplied by motor and engine simultaneously or separately.

6 Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle (SHEV)

Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle, the driving force of the vehicle only comes from the electric motor hybrid electric vehicle.

7 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PSHEV)

Parallel Series Hybrid Vehicle, a hybrid electric vehicle with series and parallel driving modes.

8 Enhanced Electric Vehicle (REEV)

Range Extended Electric Vehicle is an electric vehicle that can achieve all its power performance in the pure electric mode. When the on-board rechargeable energy storage system cannot meet the requirements of the range, the on-board auxiliary power supply device is turned on to provide power for the power system to extend the range, and the on-board auxiliary power supply device has no transmission connection with the drive system, such as a transmission shaft (belt).

9 Vehicle controller (VCU)

Vehicle Control Unit, which collects accelerator pedal signals, brake pedal signals and other component signals, and makes corresponding judgments, coordinates each control module of the whole vehicle to make corresponding control strategies, so as to realize the drive, braking and energy recovery of the whole vehicle.

10 Braking energy recovery system

Regenerative Braking is a system that converts or partially converts the kinetic energy and potential energy of the vehicle during driving into the energy of the on-board rechargeable energy storage system when the vehicle controller receives that the opening of the accelerator pedal is 0% when the vehicle is decelerating or coasting.

11 Drive motor

Drive Motor, the motor that provides driving force for vehicle driving.

12 High voltage system

High Voltage Power System, the high-voltage drive parts system that is connected to the DC bus of the power battery or driven by the power supply of the power battery when the internal voltage of the electric vehicle is above Class B, mainly including but not limited to: power battery system and/or high-voltage distribution system (high-voltage contactor, fuse, etc.), motor and its controller system DC/DC converter and on-board charger, etc. (Level B voltage refers to the voltage higher than DC 60V).

13. Traction battery management system (BMS)

The Battery Management System, which monitors the status of the battery (temperature, voltage, state of charge, etc.), can provide information, safety, cell balance and management control (charge and discharge control, contactor control, thermal management control, etc.) for the traction battery, and provide a system with communication interfaces with application equipment.

14 On board charger (OBC)

On Board Charger, a charger fixed on the vehicle.

15High voltage service switch

High Voltage Precharge Resistor is a switch or related device that cuts off the high-voltage output of the power battery during vehicle maintenance.

16 Motor controller (EMC)

Electrical Machine Controller, which controls the energy transmission device between power supply and motor, consists of control signal interface circuit, motor control circuit and drive circuit.

17 DC/DC converter

DC/DC converter (converter), which converts a DC voltage to any DC voltage.
