The parking space on the roadside can not only park cars, but also has intelligent charging facilities beside it, which is convenient for car owners to charge and supplement electricity. Recently, the reporter learned from Chengdu Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau that, relying on the existing roadside parking resources and without occupying new space resources, Chengdu has piloted the first batch of roadside "smart multi-function pole+charging pile" projects in the city, and created a demonstration project of "roadside parking+charging integration". The pilot sites located at Xinkaisi Street and Gulou North Fourth Street in Qingyang District have been basically completed and will be put into use in the near future, with a pilot period of half a year.

Entering Gulou North Fourth Street, the reporter saw the roadside charging facilities that had been installed. The main body of the facility is a multi-functional street lamp, and a charging device is installed below. The top can not only provide daily lighting, but also attach cameras, sensors and other diversified devices to collect, analyze and process data streams such as smart city IOT perception and video. There are 4 new roadside charging facilities installed on Gulou North 4th Street and Xinkaisi Street, 6 charging facilities in total.

Why did you choose Gulou North Fourth Street and Xinkai Temple Street as the pilot sites?

There are many old residential areas and courtyards near the area, so there is often no condition for charging facilities. However, with the popularity of new energy vehicles, many owners in nearby communities have bought new energy vehicles, and charging has become a "just need".

"The construction of roadside charging facilities will be carried out first and steadily." The relevant person in charge of the Public Construction Office of Chengdu Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau introduced that they will do a good job in the evaluation feedback of the pilot and strive for early implementation and early results. When conditions are ripe, they will be steadily promoted throughout the city of Chengdu.

In terms of site selection, the construction of roadside charging facilities will focus on the old urban areas, future communities and other areas, take into account the supply and demand situation, construction implementation conditions and other factors in the area as a whole, reasonably select construction sites, meet the stock demand, and promote incremental development.

In terms of construction, the person in charge said that the construction of roadside charging facilities will be combined with the municipal infrastructure, and "multi pole integration", "multi box integration", "multi well integration" and other joint construction methods will be adopted to make full use of existing power supply and distribution facilities, reduce resource investment, and increase comprehensive benefits; It will also combine with the existing road parking spaces to solve the parking and charging space carrier as a whole, and combine with the reconstruction of old residential areas, municipal facilities construction and other work.

"On the basis of summarizing the pilot scheme, we will further improve the work implementation mechanism, formulate the implementation plan, and gradually and orderly promote the construction." The person in charge said that Chengdu will strive to build no less than 3000 roadside charging by the end of 2025. (Lei Jie, full media reporter of Sichuan Daily)
