Essential Tools

As the saying goes, if you want to do a good job, you must first sharpen your tools. When repairing electric steam, some tools are also necessary.

1. Insulating gloves

Insulating gloves have become a necessary tool when repairing electric steam (circuit).

● Do not fold the rubber gloves when they are placed for maintenance, or the rubber gloves will be prematurely aged and damaged. ● Before daily maintenance, check whether the gloves are damaged. When selecting a multimeter for maintenance of electric vehicles, it must be ensured that the multimeter is a digital multimeter of CAT III (or higher voltage level).

In addition to the above basic equipment, safety helmets, insulation measuring instruments, fiberglass poles and maintenance indicators can also be equipped if conditions permit.

Unique conduit color

I believe that some friends have more or less contact with some hybrid cars in their daily maintenance. Careful friends will find that there are many color conduits on the car, but do you know what these conduits mean?

Black: 12V

Red: 12V

Blue: 42V

Yellow: 42V

Orange: 144~600V or more than 600V.

From the above, we can see that in new energy vehicles, the circuit is not only below 12V. There are also some circuits that exceed the safety voltage of human body (36V), which means that we have been able to pose a threat to human body in the process of maintenance (some circuits). This is also one reason why electric vehicle manufacturers do not allow non professionals to repair.

● Although 42V voltage does not cause much harm to human body, it will generate arc (electric spark) when the circuit is disconnected.

Maintenance of new energy vehicles

1. Appearance inspection

Check the vehicle lights, wiper strips, paint surface, etc.

2. Chassis inspection

As for fuel vehicles, the main inspection is to check whether the chassis connectors and transmission components are aged, deformed, damaged, etc. New energy vehicles shall also check whether the exposed wires are worn, compressed, aged, etc.

3. Tire inspection

Like fuel vehicles, check the tire pressure, deformation, abnormal wear, etc.

4. Liquid level inspection

This is different from the traditional car. The pure electric car does not need to change the oil, but needs to check and change the motor coolant.

The replacement inspection of brake oil and transmission oil is the same as that of traditional cars.

5. Engine compartment inspection

In addition to the traditional oil, check whether the wiring in the engine compartment is loose or aging.

6. Battery inspection

Mainly check the capacity of the battery.

7. Inspection of power management system

Mainly check whether the power management system has fault codes, if any, it needs to be solved in time. Otherwise, it may bring high maintenance costs to the car owner.

New energy vehicle maintenance matters needing attention

1. Before vehicle maintenance, turn off the ignition switch and take out the key. If the vehicle is started by one button, keep the key away from the vehicle to ensure that the start is invalid.

Because hybrid vehicles may start automatically at any time when the voltage drops.

2. When using a two pillar lift or hydraulic jack to lift a new energy vehicle, it is necessary to lift it at a designated position, because the batteries of some vehicles are at the bottom of the vehicle, and then even high-voltage wires will be laid near the frame beam.

3. When repairing the line system with high voltage, cut off the high voltage power supply circuit first. Disconnect the negative pole of the auxiliary battery (relay or fuse can also be pulled out), pull out the access plug and power off for 10 minutes (unless it is determined that the high-voltage line is not powered) for maintenance.

4. Since the fault code will be cleared after disconnecting the power supply, read and record the fault code information before powering off.

5. Insulating gloves and boots must be worn when repairing high-voltage lines.

6. Since the air conditioning compressor of new energy vehicles is different from that of ordinary vehicles (electric), the specified refrigerant oil (snow oil) needs to be added when the air conditioning system is repaired.

7. When repairing the high-pressure system of new energy vehicles, it is good to surround the vehicles to be repaired and place the words "high-pressure work, keep away".

8. The vehicle needs to be moved during maintenance. If the drive motor (push/other) is not removed, the high-voltage wire must be fixed properly to prevent some vehicles with permanent magnets from burning the circuit or others due to the voltage generated during the movement.

9. For new energy vehicles, if they need to enter the paint baking room, they should consult the manual first to see if they can enter the paint baking room. (High temperature is harmful to the battery)

Precautions for rescue of new energy vehicles

1. When rescuing, do not directly tow or drag the vehicle. If necessary, push (or drive) the vehicle to the roadside, lift the driving wheel and drag it. If it is 4-drive, only use a trailer for transportation.

2. Will the wading vehicle get electric shock

First of all, we should know that this problem has been considered when new energy vehicles are produced, and their waterproof level is generally IP67. In addition, when wading, the main (high-voltage) relay of the system will disconnect the high-voltage power supply of all systems. At this time, only the battery itself has power (high-voltage).

3. If the auxiliary battery is dead, connect the battery according to the following number.
