New energy vehicles mainly supplement energy by charging and changing electricity. The main way to supplement energy is to directly charge the power battery of new energy vehicles through charging piles.


Charging piles can be divided into AC charging piles and DC charging piles according to the input current form and charging mode of the charging socket of new energy vehicles. AC charging pile is subject to the power of on-board charger. Generally, the power of AC charging is small (within 7kw), the charging time is long (slow charging), and the pile is small and flexible to install. The DC charging pile converts AC power into controllable and adjustable DC power through the charging module. The three-phase four wire system is used for power supply, which can output high voltage and large current to meet the demand of fast charging. Its pile body is large and occupies a large area.


In recent years, China's new energy vehicle industry has entered a rapid development stage of large-scale and high-quality. With the growth of new energy vehicle sales, the demand for charging piles has also been released, and the amount of charging infrastructure has grown rapidly. However, under the background of rapid development of charging facilities construction, the problem of "charging anxiety" of new energy owners has gradually emerged. Difficulties in charging and finding piles have become common problems for car owners.

 New energy vehicle industry

In view of the user charging pain points in the development process of the charging industry, the government, operators and OEMs need to work together to promote high-quality development of the industry. On the one hand, the government needs to strengthen industry supervision and improve management guidance measures to maintain market order, promote a benign competitive environment in the market, and avoid oligarchy and wanton price regulation; On the other hand, operators and OEMs can cooperate to improve charging services to achieve resource sharing and cost sharing, form competitive advantages through differentiated services, explore new profit models, increase battery technology research and development, develop overcharge, high voltage fast charge and other ways to improve energy supplement efficiency, optimize user charging experience, and make user charging more convenient and fast.

As the supporting charging infrastructure for new energy vehicles, the charging pile market has developed rapidly. It is estimated that the global scale of charging piles will reach 100 billion yuan in 2025. There are a large number of charging pile assembly and manufacturing enterprises in China. The technical threshold is relatively low, and the degree of product homogenization is relatively serious. Enterprises with the ability to vertically integrate the operation of core parts charging modules, DC charging piles, and charging piles, as well as obtaining overseas market certification, have good prospects for development.
